Licensed Legal Intern
With years of experience as a successful entrepreneur, business owner, and Human Resource Specialist, in 2015, Heather decided to expand her knowledge and pursue a legal education. Seeking practical legal experience as well as theoretical learning, Heather was admitted and began the Rule 6 Law Clerk Program, administered by the Washington State Bar Association. The Law Clerk Program is an alternative law school authorized under Rule 6 of the Washington Supreme Courts Admission and Practice Rule (APR) 6. It is a four-year program designed to provide educational and practical experience through a combination of work and study with an experienced lawyer or judge. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, Heather will be qualified to take the Washington lawyer bar examination. Since beginning the Rule 6 program, Heather’s education has included both theoretical study of and regular participation in client interviews, pre-trial negotiations, research, discovery, alternative dispute resolution, and trial. Heather’s practice focuses on plaintiffs employment law including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims as well estate planning and administration.
In 2018, Heather was granted a limited license to practice law under Washington state Supreme Court APR 9, which allows her limited practice under the direction of her supervising lawyer. This allows Heather to gain valuable supervised practice and courtroom experience.
Heather is a natural people person with a positive attitude. As an active member of the Washington State Bar Association, King County Bar Association, National Employment Lawyers Association, Washington Employment Lawyers Association and Washington State Association for Justice, she enjoys mentoring from many experienced attorneys in her respective fields of practice.
